Case studies for Australia’s National Semiconductor Roadmap

Scientell worked with the Semiconductor Sector Service Bureau (S3B) to develop a series of engaging case studies for Australia’s 2026 National Semiconductor Roadmap. The case studies brought to life the people, technologies and achievements driving Australia’s semiconductor sector, highlighting its capabilities, opportunities and potential for future growth.

Client: Semiconductor Sector Service Bureau (S3B)

Audience: Australian Government policymakers, industry, researchers, universities, investors and organisations involved in Australia's technology and manufacturing sectors.

Description

Semiconductors underpin many technologies we rely on every day, from smartphones and medical devices to renewable energy and defence systems. S3B developed the National Semiconductor Roadmap to guide policy, investment and capability development, setting a vision for Australia’s semiconductor sector to 2040.

Scientell supported S3B with writing a series of case studies to complement the Roadmap and highlight real-world examples of Australian innovation alongside selected international examples that offer relevant lessons for Australia’s future development. We interviewed industry representatives to create engaging stories about the technologies, achievements, challenges and opportunities across Australia’s semiconductor sector. We managed the case study process including working with S3B to confirm case study participants and story angle, conducting interviews, sourcing images and coordinating final approvals.
